Kylian Mbappé is a global sensation, and he's showing no signs of slowing down. Nike rates the French striker so highly that they launched their first signature Mercurial Superfly boots with him back in 2019—a bold vote of confidence that he’s more than repaid with performances on the pitch.
Today marks the release of his latest signature edition, and with six in total so far, we figured it was the perfect time to take a look back. There have been some absolute classics, and it’s tough to pick a favourite.

The Mercurial Superfly 7 'Bondy Dreams.' The start. This was Nike going back to the beginning of Mbappé’s story, using his roots in Paris as the blueprint.
His rise from Parisian schoolboy to world-beater is perfectly reflected in his relationship with the Swoosh. At just 20 years old, Mbappé became the youngest player ever to receive a personal collection from Nike — and the first French footballer to do so. A generational talent, recognised early.
The inspiration? Bondy — Mbappé’s hometown in the northeastern suburbs of Paris — played a massive role. From the colourway to the finer graphic details, everything was built to tell his story. It was bold. Unapologetic. Nothing else looked like it. Fresh, new, and electric — just like the young man himself.
The colour palette stood out immediately. Grey, green, and gold isn’t something you see often on a pitch, but here it worked — and every tone had meaning. That’s the kind of detail we love: when the design doesn’t just look good, but means something.
The use of 'Cold Grey' was a nod to the Parisian suburb of Bondy. Green was the prevailing theme throughout which referenced Bondy's rural past. The trees on the communes coat of arms and the green shirts worn by AS Bondy also served as inspiration.
What made the release stand out with star power were the touches of gold. Gold was used on the upper and soleplate which made reference to France’s World Cup triumphs and his own personal achievements to date.
Other key highlights seen on the boot are the Swoosh detailing with NIKE x MBAPPE X BONDY in raised gold lettering inside the Swoosh silhouette. The sockliner included French flags and the toe box sees 93, Bondy's zip code, stamped in gold as well.
Our favourite detail comes through on the heel with the traditional Mercurial logo changed to Mbappé in the Mercurial font.
As debut releases go we think Nike absolute crushed this one. If you have it as part of your collection well done. All this is going to do is grow in value over time. That's if you're willing to part ways with it one day.
Mbappé Superfly Rosa Pink Panther
The second drop for Mbappé was even brighter than the first and once again had a cool back story. Back when he was younger he pleaded with his parents to get the Pink boots one of his idols, Franck Ribéry, was wearing. What were they? The 2008 Nike Mercurial Vapor Rosa.
The Vapor Rosa acted as the inspiration behind signature edition 2. The design revived the vibrant 2008 version, aiming to remind Mbappé of the life lessons he learn from his mother. Particularly around the importance of hard work and determination.
When he pleaded with his parents to get him the Vapor Rosa as a child, his parents made him work for the pair. They agreed that if he worked hard at school for long enough then they would get them for him. Sure enough, the young starlet worked his socks off and got the boots from his parents in the end, he got them. They're a pair he still holds dear to his heart.
The colourway is bold and vibrant. The design took lessons from the speed-focused assets featured on the original boot, while modernizing the design aesthetic with a lightning bolt Swoosh leading to the toe. The chrome soleplate and finishes in the skin of the upper, along with KM and Mercurial logos, completed one hell of a boot.
For the third signature edition Nike brought together two of the best athletes in the world. The ‘Chosen 2’ pack saw basketball and football combine for special edition Mercurial Superfly and LeBron 18's shoes.
Mbappé debuted the boots in Mauricio Pochettino’s first game in charge, playing an important role in the build up to PSG’s equalising goal.
Design details across the ‘Chosen 2’ Mercurial included a KM x LBJ pattern across the black upper. The boots also featured pops of silver and an iridescent finish. A ‘Chosen One’ ambigram logo is found on the boots toe and 3D KM and LBJ logos on the heel tabs.
One of the best features is the double Swoosh sits on the forefoot and on the sock liners. A football x basketball pitch/court graphic appears on the left and a LeBron x Kylian ambigram appears on the right.
Both Mbappé and LeBron James received the sneaker and boot combo in a special presentation box. The box utilised the same pitch/court design to separate each and each half of the box contained the respective footwear piece.
Mercurial 'Mbappé Flames' Superfly VIII
The Mbappé Flames took inspiration from the young stars standing in the game. It's clear he's the hottest property in world football, with everyone after his signature (if they can afford it!). How do you portray that onto his latest signature edition? Simple. Flames. A design feature Kylian himself was keen to see implemented.
The flames in the design also relates to speed. He's one of the fastest players on the planet. His energy is electric and his feet are firing with goals tallying up with every game. He really is immense even at the young age of 23 - it feels like he's been around for ages.
The colours utilised to make this a real standout design are Light Thistle, Metallic Silver and Bright Crimson. These three colours join a lilac base, with the overlaying crimson colouring bringing through the flame vibes into the design. The flame rises up on the lateral side from the toe area.
There's pops of silver throughout to add glow to the light areas of the boot, while the Swoosh stands out in black. The insole and heel showcases the 'KM' branding and more flame graphics. A stunning release.
Air Zoom Mercurial 'Mbappé
This innovative Air Zoom Merurial 'Mbappé' marked Mbappé's fifth signature edition collaboration with Nike and draws inspiration from the iconic Jordan 7 silhouette along with Parisian afropop culture.
This release marked the first player-specific iteration of the new model, and the colour scheme showcased a captivating "Dark Beetroot/University Blue/Metallic Vivid Gold" combination. The Swoosh incorporated a clever personalised touch for this release, forming an 'M' that seamlessly blends into the design of Mercurial. This subtle yet distinct feature reflects Mbappé's initials and creates a unique link to the player. The 'KM' logo also makes an appearance on the collar, maintaining its traditional placement near the tongue area. Additional intricate details adorn the instep's Air branding with an intelligent pattern, while the heel introduces a stylish contrast in the shade of blue, complemented by dashes of purple and red accents.
This special edition of the Nike Air Zoom Mercurial created in collaboration with Mbappé signified a fusion of sports innovation, signature style, and cultural influences. This dynamic release not only paid homage to a legendary basketball silhouette but also encapsulated elements of Parisian culture, elevating the football boot into a realm of personalised artistry and performance. Yet another classic from Nike.
Kylian Mbappé Mercurial
It's time for the newest release and another chapter in the Kylian Mbappé signature Nike series. The Kylian Mbappé Mercurial is here. The latest iteration takes a leap into the realm of comic books and manga, driven by Mbappé's affection for them. The design draws inspiration from his favourite manga series, "Whistle!", with this release fusing football and storytelling through the comic boot style colourway. The design elements reflect the dynamic energy and narrative essence of manga, making every stride on the field a step into Mbappé's world of imagination and passion for both.
Mbappé Cheat Code Edition
When Mbappé's Madrid chapter was at his peak, his boots were doing the same. The latest Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly X was added to Mbappe's signature boots. Drenched in a “Light Laser Orange” base with pulsing pixel patterns and bold “AIR” branding, this boot is electric—just like the man wearing it. His signature “KM” stamp rides on the heel, while the full collection carries the same look across the Vapor XVI too. Another chapter of a great player.
