Nike Launch the All New Phantom GX

The newest addition to the Phantom family is the Nike Phantom GX, featuring Nike's newest innovation; Gripknit technology. 

Gripknit is made from Nike exclusive yarn coated with TPU that when melted down to the optimal temperature creates a grippy, flexible & durable upper which is a successor to Nike Flyknit. 

The Gripknit x yarn will also protect the boot from weather conditions, protecting the knit from getting wet and giving the player better boot to ball connection. Theoretically the player should have the same touch on a winters day in the UK & a summers day in Brazil. 

The boot also uses a new stud configuration for increased traction & responsiveness when making quick explosive movements, allowing athletes to create more separation from their opponent during play. 

The Gripknit yarn has also allowed Nike to innovate in terms of fit. The asymmetric collar and heel design was constructed to help reduce irritation and help footballers break in their boots more easily by bringing the seam on the heel of the boot away from the achilles.

The Phantom GX is the first elite Nike boot at retail to feature a heel counter that is usually reserved for our sponsored Nike athletes. This counter has a recess in the heel to improve comfort in the boot’s lockdown without compromising the stability and structure that footballers need.
