A Collab that makes Sense: Unwanted FC x Alex Chidiac for One Ball
Wed, Jun 18.25

Unwanted FC and Matildas midfielder Alex Chidiac have just dropped something special: a limited-edition release of match-worn kits and upcycled accessories, crafted from Chidiac’s own training and travel gear — with 50% of profits going straight to grassroots charity One Ball.
Launched on the Unwanted FC website, this collection is about more than recycled materials. It’s about repurposing football’s reach into something bigger — something that lives on beyond the final whistle.
“They’ve given me the opportunity to repurpose my excess kits and use the profits to support organisations doing amazing work in the football community,” said Chidiac. “I hope more athletes across all codes consider getting involved. We’ve never needed initiatives like this more than we do right now.”
Football With Purpose
Chidiac’s been backing Unwanted FC for years. And now, they’re backing something even bigger together: a movement that blends sport, sustainability, and social impact. Designed to cut through the noise and the waste, this drop turns unused kits into custom, wearable one-offs — while supporting One Ball, a charity helping kids from all walks of life access the game.
At Ultra Football, we have been working closely with One Ball for over a year now. We believe football isn’t just a game — it’s a gateway. A way to move, connect, belong. That’s why our partnership with One Ball means more than just support — it’s a shared mission.
By teaming up with One Ball, we’re backing a program that empowers the next generation through fitness, mentorship, cross-cultural connection, and purpose-led play. It’s everything we stand for — and everything football should be.
Because if the game’s not for everyone, it’s not the real game.
More Than a Collection
One Ball founder Kamal Ibrahim, a former refugee who arrived in Australia at 12, shares a powerful connection to Unwanted FC’s mission:
“This collaboration is about more than just football,” he says. “It’s about giving back, reducing waste, and using our platforms to inspire the next generation through action.”
Why It Matters
Over 100,000 tonnes of sportswear hit landfill in the UK each year, according to Green Football. Unwanted FC has been fighting that number since 2018 — extending the life of high-performance fabrics, reducing emissions, and avoiding the waste of mass production.
On the other side, One Ball exists to make football accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. With a focus on values like respect, discipline, and teamwork, One Ball uses football as a tool to teach life skills that go far beyond the pitch. Above all, One Ball is about belonging — giving every child a chance to play, grow, and feel part of something bigger.
This collab with Chidiac is proof that change can start small — with a jersey, a statement, a story.
