Nike Launch The Signature Edition 'Mbappe Flames' Mercurial Superfly VIII
We've been talking non-stop about Mbappé of late and for good reason. The new Nike signature edition 'Mbappé Flames' Mercurial Superfly VIII is here.
This is the fourth signature edition the young french sensation has received from Nike. If you need a refresher on the three which came before these, check out our history of his boots so far. Bondy Dreams, Pink Panther and Chosen 2 have all been brilliant, but what we have here with 'Mbappé Flames' might be our favourite colourway so far.
The first three all had a cool story connected to the design. From looking at his beginnings in the Parisian suburb of Bondy, his desire to wear one of his idols boots and his love for basketball - there's been some nice chapters so far. This is a story which is going to continue for years to come, with each chapter getting better and better.

The Mbappé Flames takes inspiration from the young stars standing in the game. It's clear he's the hottest property in world football, with everyone after his signature next season. How do you portray that onto his latest signature edition? Simple. Flames. A design feature Kylian himself was keen to see implemented.
The flames in the design also relate to speed. He's one of the fastest players on the planet. His energy is electric and his feet are firing with goals tallying up with every game. He really is immense even at the young age of 22 - it feels like he's been around for ages.
The colours utilised to make this a real standout design are Light Thistle, Metallic Silver and Bright Crimson. These three colours join a lilac base, with the overlaying crimson colouring bringing through the flame vibes into the design. The flame rises up on the lateral side from the toe area. It looks 10/10 and we can't wait to see them match back to the PSG kit.

There's pops of silver throughout to add glow to the light areas of the boot, while the Swoosh stands out in black. The insole and heel showcases the 'KM' branding and more flame graphics.
Mbappé treated us all to a first glimpse at the pair on the pitch at training before PSG's UCL clash against Leipzig. You can already see with the training kit he was wearing that the boots look stunning on pitch.
