Athletic Club, or Athletic Bilbao as they are commonly known, is one of the most interesting club's in world football.
The club is located in Bilbao which is the de facto capital of Basque County, which is one of the most unique places in Spain and and area that feels completely unique to the rest of the country.
The club also has a long standing transfer policy which is not common among elite level teams.
Since way back in 1912, Athletic Club have had an unwritten policy whereby the club will only sign players who were born in Basque Country.
The club motto 'Con cantera y afición, no hace falta importación' translates to 'With home-grown talent and local support, there’s no need for imports' - cool, huh?
This policy hasn't ruined their ability to be successful as well, quite the contrary. As of 2021, the club has 8 La Liga titles to their name and a staggering 23 Copa del Reys, second only to Barcelona. Yep - more than Real Madrid.
Amazingly as well - Atheltic Club are one of only 3 sides never to have been relegated from La Liga along with Barca and Real.

The New Balance Athletic Club 21/22 home jersey aims to be a modern take on the iconic racing red and white vertical stripes, with the jersey design incorporating a diagonal print graphic to change things up - not so dissimilar to the new FC Porto 21/22 home jersey.
