NEW BALANCE ADDS TIM WEAH TO THE BRAND’S ROSTER
New Balance are continuing to make waves with the signing of U.S. and LOSC Lille star Tim Weah. Weah has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with the brand which is going to take them to new creative heights.
Weah is already a star in his own right, but it's hard to ignore his last name which is filled with prestige. His father, George Weah, is a former Ballon d'Or winner and current president of Liberia. Anyone got a cooler dad?
Tim was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and is regards as one of the brightest prospects out of America. He crafted his skills in the U.S. before heading to European football academies - most notably PSG.
Since joining PSG at a young age he has won trophies in Paris, then at Celtic and most recently at LOSC Lille last season. When you're winning Ligue 1 with Les Dogues over the might of PSG, you must be doing something right.
It's not just on the pitch where Tim is a creative force as well. He is very cool and has a great personality. He's also a massive sneakerhead. It seems like a match made in heaven, with Weah able to work with New Balance across football and lifestyle campaigns globally. He will be able to utilise passions for music, art and fashion with a brand we know can excite.
Weah says he takes inspiration from the places he has called home and intends to give back to youth in the US, Jamaica and Liberia.
