No word of a lie, when we saw X Ghosted in the adidas office a few of us said this was the best boot we’ve seen in a long, long time. We were pumped like you wouldn’t believe to get our hands on this speed boot which is going to be an instant hit.

It pains us to say there is a market-wide delay on X Ghosted, which means we won’t see it land in Australia until November. It's especially painful given how highly we regard the product from the brief interaction we've had with it.

The X Ghosted was designed upon the last of a sprint spike, which has redefined the boundaries of fast. Everything is based around fast for X Ghosted which is going to be a match made in heaven for players with speed to burn.

The all new mirageskin which is a brand new performance material technology from adidas looks fast as hell with it's translucency meaning that everyone's will look slightly different on-pitch depending on what colour sock you’re wearing. The single layer of high-performance material is layered over a wire framework to create a seamless upper that provides lightweight stability and support. Trust us… the build is amazing; hence our initial excitement in the product.

The reason the boot is called X Ghosted isn’t too surprising when you study the mirageskin and colourway the translucent upper produces – the ghost-like semi see-through aesthetic gives the product a perfect launch name. Further nods to speed come in the detail with the three-stripe placement inspired by the peregrine falcon – the fastest creature on earth. A fitting link.

The all new carbitex speedframe dynamic carbon soleplate makes this boot feel and look faster than anything else available, an innovation crafted with extreme power and speed in mind. If what we’ve said so far isn’t getting you hyped enough, how’s this?
