< Ultra Mag Previous Article Next Article adidas release the all new Copa Sense - an icon with new boot tech to deliver absolute touch Article by: Mickey Tue, Feb 16.21 Read: #Adidas #Boots Copa Mundial is one of the most iconic boots of all time, so we always get a bit excited when the latest Copa comes out - especially when it's got new tech to rave about. Introducing the Copa Sense - a boot built by from the inside out, crafted to provide greater synergy between ball and boot. How has adidas achieved this? Through the introduction of three new innovations - SENSEPODS, TOUCHPODS and SOFTSTUD technology. All three of these combine to help athletes become the best version of themselves on pitch with enhanced feel and optimum touch. The Adidas team utilised detailed workings of the human foot to come up with this update to the iconic silo, mapping out a variety of different sole shapes in order to understand where the foot connected most with the ball. These learnings brought about the new SENSEPODS - precisicely placed innovation on the inside of the boot which act on minimising the negative space found around the ankle and achilies. SENSEPODS are essentially foam pods which looks to close the space in this area in a soft way, which creates a seamless connection between boot and ball. The second major tech update comes from the TOUCHPODS which are placed both on the medial and lateral sides of the boot. The purpose of these are to absorb impact energy off the ball at the points of the boot where connection with the ball most often occurs. Thanks to all the research done they have absolutely nailed this to ensure it works. The final tech update is the introduction of SOFTSTUDS. These are two medial forefoot studs which are injected with a softer material, so they bend upon impact with the ball. The classic-look upper features FUSIONSKIN, a material that moulds to the shape of the foot. Made from a material which seamlessly fuses leather and PRIMEKNIT, FUSIONSKIN also reduces the water absorption rate and improves flexibility. Finally, the collar shape of the Copa Sense is slightly rotated and opened to the lateral side to follow the shape of the ankle. This has been engineered in a way to provide an anatomical fit, allowing the boot to stretch with the respective foot shape, made possible thanks to a soft elasticated material used in the construction process. The best players of the past wore Copa Mundial. The best players of the future wear Copa Sense. You can get yours in store at Ultra HQ in Sydney or online here.
