Around The Grounds #11

What a week! There's a football game every day at the moment and there’s so much going on around the world, with big moves on the horizon and upcoming releases being put to the test in training. We’re dubbing this one the next-gen ep of Around The Grounds. You’ll find out why below! First let's start off with some new releases.

James Maddison – Puma Future BALR.

The Foxes very own BALR. James Maddison featured heavily in the Puma designed by BALR. Fall 2020 Collection shoot alongside Allan Saint-Maximin and Reinier Jesus. The Netherlands-based lifestyle brand has really raised the bar with this second collaboration with Puma and the shoot came out so well that interest in the collection has been very strong. Definitely worth a look for football fans with an eye for high-end fashion.

The stunning Future 6.1’s deserved some on-pitch action and that’s exactly what they got – with Madders rocking the boots at home against Braga in the Europa League, scoring the fourth goal in a 4-0 win. Now over to the other lads to see how they go this weekend in the clean and classy Futures.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – adidas Nemeziz+

Aaro Wan-Bissaka took to the pitch in the all-new adidas Atmospheric Pack Nemeziz+ against İstanbul Başakşehir during the week. The latest version is easily the best looking Nemeziz we’ve seen in a long while and we think you’ll all agree. The Nemeziz+ also features an updated upper this time around, so if you’ve been thinking about trying a pair but have been on the fence, this release is the one to try. You won’t see a better Nemeziz again!

Matteo Guendouzi – Predator 20+

We couldn’t chat Atmospheric Pack without finding someone who wore the stunning Predator Mutator 20+ model recently. Matteo Guendouzi wore them on Monday for Hertha Berlin against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The match ended in a draw, but Matteo is personally winning with those Preds. We’ve said it time and again, but black, white and gold is simply one of the best colourway options that produces the goods every single time.

Robert Lewandowski – Puma Ultra 1.1

Robert LewanGOALski to Puma? Surely not? Surely YES! The worlds best striker was seen in a blackout pair of the new Ultra 1.1’s in training for Bayern this week. Could he really follow Neymar’s path and leave Nike for Puma? It seems likely… and what a massive signing for the Big Cat. They are forming one hell of a group of athletes. Stay tuned!

Raheem Sterling –  New Balance Next-gen Furon

Another big move is seemingly imminent, with reports Raheem Sterling is set to sign an eye-watering 100-million-dollar contract with New Balance over 10 years. See those boots he’s been wearing of late? They are whiteout New Balance next-gen Furons - a boot we can’t wait to get our hands on.

With Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mané on the brands books – the world is going to be seeing a lot of big New Balance moments this season and for the foreseeable future. We applaud the ambition of the American brand since losing Liverpool to Nike. They haven't given up and can now focus on athletes and their boots which they are putting a lot of effort into. They’re certainly going for it!

Paul Pogba – adidas Next-gen Predator

More next-gen action in the form of blackout Predators which Paul Pogba has been testing out in training. One clearly visible update can be seen on the collar, with the V shape design shaking things up. They already look like they will be easier to slip on and off. Let’s wait and see!

Ansu Fati – Nike Next-gen Mercurial

Next-gen superstar. Next-gen Mercurial. That’s what young starlet Ansu Fati has been testing out in training for FC Barcelona. We have massive expectations for the next Mercurial and we’ll have some exciting updates in the new year. Nike don’t tend to get Mercurial wrong so if you’re a fan the next few months are going to get exciting as we lead into what’s coming next.

Zinedine Zidane – Human Race Predator

To finish off this week we had to sneak Zizou in. He’s been making the football community feel all kinds of nostalgia lately, rocking the Human Race Predator Mutator 20+ designed by Pharrell – tying back to his days on pitch in the late 90’s. What a player. What a pair of boots.
