  • Messi Arrives In Paris

With Barcelona struggling financially, PSG are anything but and have picked themselves up a $100 million dollar bargain. Although Messi’s wage demands are astronomical, the value he’ll bring to PSG and Ligue 1 is out of this world, with Messi generating an estimated 200+ million euros more than his actual earnings.

Adding Lionel Messi to their squad, PSG seems to have taken over from Real Madrid and its 'Galacticos’ as the club with the biggest star names. Messi joins Neymar, Mbappe, Donnarumma, Hakimi, Verratti and Icardi in what is a star studded line up.

Obviously the Lionel Messi transfer isn’t just a marketing ploy from PSG, he will be arriving in the French capital to win it all. Playing up front with Neymar and Mbappe, PSG will boast the best front line in world football, since probably the Messi, Neymar & Suarez days at Barcelona. The attacking output will be off the charts, Mbappe scored 42 goals with 11 assists last season, Neymar 17 and 11 in an injury plagued season and Messi just the lazy 38 goals and 14 assists.

Following a disappointing 20/21 the French giants will be out for revenge in 21/22, having missed out on the Ligue 1 title for just the second time in 9 years. Although domestic success is more than welcome, with the addition of Messi the club will no doubt be going all out for the champions league trophy which has eluded them so far.

The club have gone so close in recent years, losing to Bayern Munich in the final in 2020 and going out to Manchester City in the semi-finals last season, they’ll be looking to Messi as the final piece of the champions league puzzle.
